This is considered one of Escher’s most beautiful prints, a masterpiece of subtle interactions between the different aspects of nature.  We see the reflection of trees from the world above the pond, whilst leaves mark with wonderful perspective the surface of the water under which floats a graceful carp. This lithograph captures both the harmony and the mystery of the complex web of creation.
